The Radical Faeries of British Columbia

Disclaimer: The Radical Faeries of British Columbia embrace change and evolution as a core part of our identity. This description represents a moment in time, shaped by the collective voices and experiences of our community. As we grow and transform, so will the way we define and express who we are.

The Radical Faeries are part of a global movement that emerged in the 1970s, deeply anchored in the counter-cultural currents of the time.

The word radical originates from the Latin radix, meaning root. For the Radical Faeries, this idea resonates deeply with their ethos and practices. To be radical is to seek the root of things—whether it is the essence of personal truth, authentic connection, or a deeper understanding of self, community, and the natural world.

There are Radical Faerie groups throughout the world, independent of each other, with similar but with varying values and goals. The Radical Faeries of British Columbia is a dynamic and evolving assembly of people passionate about an authentic lifestyle, rich community, celebrating bold creativity, and mutually nurturing support.

Nowadays, we continue to lead these principles while weaving them into our unique context. We believe in building meaningful connective relationships over gatherings, collective experiences, or the transformative journey of heart circles. These create an invitation for being open, venerable, or deep listening itself stands and is the grassroots of our togetherness journey.

Our events celebrate the pioneer spirit of the Radical Faeries through fierce individualism, unapologetic creativity, and create an environment that allows people to explore their deepest self without judgment but with absolute acceptance.

The Radical Faeries of British Columbia are devoted to creating community that inspires, nurtures, and celebrates diversity in all its forms. Whether through the arts, soulful conversations, or quiet contemplation, we honor our collective roots while envisioning a future of belonging, growth, and joy.
