Activities

We have a variety of activities throughout the year that you may be interested in participating, either to check us out, hang out, or simply make new friends. We deem our faerie spaces where these activities happen as friendly and safe spaces!

Please check our calendar for upcoming faerie events in BC.

Heart Circles

Faerie and Fae-friendly folk gather together monthly at or around the full moon to confidentially share and speak from the heart with one another, in a spirit of positive energy, support, and mutual vulnerability.

When we circle:

After introductions and an explanation of the process, a talisman is passed, and whomever wants to, speaks, while others listen in silence.

Occasionally, facilitated heart circles involving dialogue and a deeper exploration of shared issues are arranged in addition to the monthly full moon circles.

Heart circle is the heart of Faerie identity and consciousness, living out the principle of subject-subject relationship.

Please contact us to find the time and location of the next one.

P.S. There’s usually a social time after the circle. You’re invited to bring a snack or dessert to share if you’d like.

Mind Circles

Mind circles are similar to heart circles, except the forum is about meaningful and respectful discussions where the mind is at the forefront. These circles are usually on an ad hoc basis, meaning Fae folk only come together when a call for a mind circle is put out, and this does not necessarily follow a specific schedule.

Gatherings

Gatherings are larger multi-day events which attract Fae folk near and far. They are opportunities to practice our way of being together in a focused way over several days, as a community and as individuals. They feature ritual, dance, heart circles, games, workshops, and lots of playful fun – indoors and out.

Let’s go camping, eh?

The Radical Faeries of British Columbia host two major gatherings: faerie camps over the Victoria Day long weekend in May and the Thanksgiving long weekend in October.

We keep the numbers to between 70 and 80 in order create a more intimate feel. It’s held at the Evans Lake Forest Camp, just north of Squamish.

Other gatherings

There are many other gatherings near and far:

We have a Shadow Gathering that happens in February. This is a smaller urban gathering held within Vancouver.

In Northern Saskatchewan, the Mystic Prairie Radical Faerie Camp is a smaller, intimate gathering that happens on the Canada Day long weekend at the end of June.

The summer and winter Breitenbush gatherings in Central Oregon attract almost 200 Faeries.

The gatherings at the Wolf Creek Faerie Sanctuary in southern Oregon are usually more rustic, and many include women as well as men.

There are also the Longhouse and American Ridge gatherings in rural Washington

Smaller “gather-ettes” of one to two dozen at The Landing Place – land that one of our brothers makes available at his home on the Sunshine Coast.

Contact us for more information about these other gatherings.

Slow Hand

I want a man with a slow hand
I want a lover with an easy touch

I want somebody who will spend some time
Not come and go in a heated rush
I want somebody who will understand
When it comes to love I want a slow hand.

— The Pointer Sisters

It’s like Heart Circle

The Slow Hand groups are closed weekly heart circles which meet for a set period.

The first couple of circles of each group are open to all faes before closing.

The Slow Hand groups are further experiments in the heart circle concept.

Small self-directed closed groups meet regularly in shared intimacy. Currently some groups self-select and others are formed in an open process that happens in September and January. Regular attendance is usually expected.

Please reach out to us for schedules and for more information.
